Founded in the early 1960s... all Board of Directors, past and present have donated long hours and a wide range of expertise and experience to ensure the La Plata Blue Knights continues in its strong tradition of excellence.  LPBK is a non-profit organization and all board members, coaches and assistant coaches are NOT paid for their efforts.

Craig was raised in Greenbelt, Maryland.  He retired from the US Air Force after 23 years of service and is also a retired Maryland Natural Resources Police Officer.  He coached Pop Warner Football in Texas for four years and has coached for LPBK for the past three years.  Craig is married and his oldest son has played for LPBK for the last three years and his youngest will start on anklebiters this year.

Mary and her family are LPBK Blue and True!! Her husband Lenny has been an Assistant Coach for the past 3 years, and the "Blocker boys" are very familiar faces on the football field. Working a full-time job in PG County, you may catch her zipping down the road to make it to the many, many practices and LPBK events.

Jackie has been a LPBK Team Mom for 2 years. She works part time for the Maryland Department of Labor and Licensing and Regulations, Division of Unemployment.  She is married with two children.  Her daughter Victoria has cheered for LPBK for 3 years .  Her son David has played football for LPBK for 3 years.

Cheer Coach, Board Member, and local business owner. Terri has a full plate, but still manages to keep LPBK finances straight. La Plata Blue Knights is a 501(3)c non-profit organization and Terri works hard to
 log in all of your checks (you have no idea how many there are) as well as your much needed sponsorships and league donations. Terri’s daughter cheers for LPBK, and next year her little guy plans to play football.

Shannon Stewart was the Anklebiters Head Cheer Coach last year.  She works full time for a Dentist in LaPlata.  Her husband John is a Firefighter in Washington, DC.  Her son Justin played Ankle biters last year and will play again this year.  Her stepdaughter Taylor has cheered for LPBK 6 years and will be on 115 this year.

2008 will be Amy's third year with the La Plata Blue Knights.  Last year she was a coach for the 100 lb. cheerleading squad.  During the off season, Amy coached a combined division group of LPBK girls from the 80, 90, 100 and 115 lb. squads for the national Final Destination competition in Virginia Beach.  In addition to serving as this years Cheerleading Equipment Manager, this year Amy will be the head coach of the 80 lb. cheerleading squad.

Heather has twin daughters, Caitlin and Kristine Vermillion, who cheer for LPBK.  This will be their third year with LPBK. She has been involved with helping decorate for Homecoming and the competitions. She’s been with PNC Bank (formerly Mercantile Southern Maryland Bank) for 13 years and is currently the branch manager of the Charlotte Hall location.


MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR: Tracey Baierlein

Tracey and her family have been with the Blue Knights since 2005.  Her son Michael will be entering his fourth season of football this year.  Her husband Michael Sr. was an assistant coach last year and is looking forward to the upcoming season.  Tracey works a full time job and on Saturdays you will find her on the football, baseball or soccer field cheering on her son and his teammates.


CONCESSIONS COORDINATOR: Lisa Nelson

 Lisa develops POS software for restaurants.  She has been in the restaurant and nightclub business for 35 years as both an owner and operator.  This will be he son Chance's 4th year with the blue knights

  

HISTORIAN: Staci Childers

Staci has been affiliated with the Blue Knights organization for almost three years. Her husband was an assistant football coach last year. Her son will begin his third year of football and daughter will be cheering for her third year. Staci has a B.A. in History from Mary Washington College. She works full time at T.C. Martin as an Instructional Aide and is also writes legal articles for a national legal publication
